Definition
Clay is a soft, fine earth material that can be shaped when wet and hardens when fired; it is used to make pottery, bricks, tiles, and ceramics, and the word can also refer to a clay-court surface or a clay target (clay pigeon).
क्ले/चिकनी मिट्टी एक मुलायम, महीन मिट्टी होती है जो गीली होने पर आसानी से आकार लेती है और पकाने (भट्ठी में जलाने) पर कठोर हो जाती है; इसका उपयोग बर्तन, ईंट, टाइल और सिरेमिक बनाने में होता है, और यह शब्द मिट्टी वाले टेनिस कोर्ट या ‘क्ले पिजन’ (शूटिंग लक्ष्य) के लिए भी प्रयोग होता है।
