Definition
A chickpea is the edible seed of a legume plant, commonly used in South Asian, Middle Eastern, and Mediterranean cooking; it is eaten boiled or roasted, made into dishes like hummus and chana masala, or ground into chickpea (gram) flour for batters and breads.
चना (चिकपी) एक दलहनी पौधे का खाने योग्य बीज है, जिसे दक्षिण एशियाई, मध्य-पूर्वी और भूमध्यसागरीय व्यंजनों में खूब उपयोग किया जाता है; इसे उबालकर या भूनकर खाया जाता है, इससे हुम्मस और चना मसाला जैसे व्यंजन बनते हैं, और इसे पीसकर बेसन/चना आटा बनाकर घोल व रोटियाँ आदि तैयार की जाती हैं।
