Definition
A cestode is a parasitic flatworm (tapeworm) that typically lives in the intestines of vertebrates and absorbs nutrients through its body surface; many species have a head (scolex) with hooks or suckers and a chain of segments (proglottids).
सेस्टोड एक परजीवी चपटा कृमि (फीताकृमि/टेपवर्म) है जो सामान्यतः कशेरुकी जीवों की आँतों में रहता है और शरीर की सतह से पोषण अवशोषित करता है; कई प्रजातियों में सिर (स्कोलेक्स) पर हुक/चूषक तथा खंडों (प्रोग्लॉटिड्स) की शृंखला होती है।
