Origin & History
From Latin campus meaning “field, open plain”; later used for the grounds of educational institutions (notably popularized in American English).
लैटिन शब्द ‘campus’ से, जिसका अर्थ “मैदान/खुला समतल क्षेत्र” है; बाद में शैक्षणिक संस्थानों के परिसर के अर्थ में प्रयोग होने लगा (विशेष रूप से अमेरिकी अंग्रेज़ी में लोकप्रिय)।
Definition
A campus is the land and the group of buildings belonging to a university, college, or school, including facilities like classrooms, libraries, hostels, and sports areas. It can also refer to the life and community within the institution.
कैंपस किसी विश्वविद्यालय, कॉलेज या विद्यालय की भूमि और उससे जुड़े भवनों का समूह होता है, जिसमें कक्षाएँ, पुस्तकालय, छात्रावास और खेल क्षेत्र जैसी सुविधाएँ शामिल होती हैं। कभी-कभी यह संस्था के भीतर के जीवन और समुदाय के अर्थ में भी प्रयोग होता है।
