Definition
In botany, a calyx is the outermost ring of a flower, made up of sepals, which encloses and protects the flower bud and the petals as they develop; by extension, it can mean any cup-shaped structure.
वनस्पति-विज्ञान में, कैलिक्स फूल का सबसे बाहरी घेरा होता है, जो सेपल (दल) से बना होता है और कली तथा विकसित होते पंखुड़ियों की रक्षा करता है; विस्तारित अर्थ में यह किसी भी प्याले/कप जैसी संरचना को भी कहते हैं।
