From broncho- (bronchus) + spastic (of spasms), ultimately from Greek bronch(os) ‘windpipe’ and Greek spastikos ‘drawing in, convulsive’.
broncho- (ब्रॉन्कस/श्वासनली) + spastic (ऐंठन/स्पाज़्म से संबंधित) से बना; मूलतः ग्रीक bronch(os) ‘श्वासनली’ और ग्रीक spastikos ‘खींचने वाला/आकस्मिक ऐंठनयुक्त’ से।

ब्रोंकोस्पाज़्म से संबंधित या उसकी विशेषता वाला; विशेषकर ऐसी स्थिति, प्रतिक्रिया या कारक के लिए प्रयुक्त जो ब्रॉन्कियल (श्वासनलिकाओं की) चिकनी मांसपेशियों में ऐंठन पैदा करके वायुमार्ग को संकरा कर दे, जिससे घरघराहट और सांस लेने में कठिनाई हो।
