From New Latin Bromeliaceae, based on the genus Bromelia (named in honor of Swedish botanist Olof Bromelius) + the plant-family suffix -aceae.
न्यू लैटिन Bromeliaceae से; यह Bromelia वंश (स्वीडिश वनस्पतिविज्ञानी ओलोफ़ ब्रॉमेलियस के सम्मान में नामित) और पौधों के कुल का प्रत्यय -aceae से बना है।

Bromeliaceae is a plant family (bromeliads) known for rosette-forming leaves, often collecting water in a central “tank,” and for many epiphytic species in tropical and subtropical regions, especially the Americas.
ब्रॉमेलिएसी (Bromeliaceae) एक पौधों का कुल (ब्रॉमेलिएड्स) है, जिसकी पहचान गुलदस्ता/रोसेट जैसी पत्तियों, कई प्रजातियों में बीच में पानी जमा करने वाले “टैंक” और उष्णकटिबंधीय–उपोष्णकटिबंधीय क्षेत्रों (विशेषकर अमेरिका) में पाई जाने वाली अनेक एपिफाइटिक (पेड़ों पर उगने वाली) प्रजातियों से होती है।
