‘ब्लास्टुला’ + ‘-एशन’ (क्रिया/प्रक्रिया दर्शाने वाला प्रत्यय) से बना शब्द; यह आधुनिक/नव-लैटिन वैज्ञानिक गठन है, जिसका उपयोग भ्रूणविज्ञान में (मुख्यतः 20वीं शताब्दी से) हुआ।
Definition
Blastulation is the early embryological process in which a developing embryo transitions from a solid ball of cells (morula) into a hollow, fluid-filled structure called a blastula (blastocyst in mammals), establishing key cell layers and setting the stage for gastrulation.
ब्लास्टुलेशन भ्रूण-विकास की प्रारम्भिक प्रक्रिया है जिसमें विकसित होता हुआ भ्रूण ठोस कोशिकागुच्छ (मोरुला) से बदलकर एक खोखली, द्रव-भरी संरचना ‘ब्लास्टुला’ (स्तनधारियों में ‘ब्लास्टोसिस्ट’) बनता है; इस चरण में प्रमुख कोशिकीय व्यवस्थाएँ स्थापित होती हैं और आगे ‘गैस्ट्रुलेशन’ की तैयारी होती है।
