Formed from black + plate; in industrial English, it referred to steel plate/sheet with a dark, uncoated surface, later used especially for the base sheet that could be tin-coated (tinplate).
यह शब्द black (काला) + plate (प्लेट/चादर) से बना है; औद्योगिक अंग्रेज़ी में यह गहरे रंग की, बिना कोटिंग वाली स्टील शीट/प्लेट के लिए प्रयुक्त हुआ, और बाद में विशेष रूप से उस आधार शीट के लिए, जिस पर टिन चढ़ाकर टिनप्लेट बनाया जाता है।

Blackplate is thin, low-carbon steel sheet/plate with a dark, uncoated surface (often after hot rolling or annealing), commonly used as the base material for tinplate, packaging steel, and various stamped or formed metal goods.
ब्लैकप्लेट पतली, कम-कार्बन स्टील की शीट/प्लेट होती है जिसकी सतह काली/अनकोटेड (अक्सर हॉट-रोलिंग या एनीलिंग के बाद) रहती है; इसे प्रायः टिनप्लेट, पैकेजिंग स्टील तथा विभिन्न स्टैम्प/फॉर्म किए गए धातु उत्पादों के आधार पदार्थ के रूप में इस्तेमाल किया जाता है।
