Definition
A biocide is a substance or preparation used to destroy, deter, render harmless, or control harmful organisms (e.g., bacteria, viruses, fungi, algae) in settings such as healthcare, water treatment, agriculture, and industrial systems.
बायोसाइड वह पदार्थ या मिश्रण है जिसका उपयोग हानिकारक जीवों (जैसे बैक्टीरिया, वायरस, फफूंद, शैवाल) को नष्ट करने, रोकने, निष्क्रिय करने या नियंत्रित करने के लिए स्वास्थ्य-सेवा, जल-शोधन, कृषि और औद्योगिक प्रणालियों में किया जाता है।
