मध्य अंग्रेज़ी “became” (become का भूतकाल) से; यह पुरानी अंग्रेज़ी “becuman” से आया है, जिसका अर्थ था ‘तक पहुँचना/आना’ और ‘हो जाना/बन जाना’।
Definition
“Became” is the simple past form of “become.” It is used when someone or something changed into a new state, role, or condition in the past (and in older/rare uses can mean “happened/occurred” or “suited”).
