Definition
A basiotribe is an obstetric crushing instrument designed to grasp, crush, and help extract the fetal head (especially the base of the skull) during rare destructive procedures when the fetus is not viable and vaginal delivery is otherwise obstructed.
बेसियोट्राइब प्रसूति-विज्ञान में प्रयुक्त एक कुचलने वाला शल्य-उपकरण है, जो भ्रूण के सिर (विशेषकर खोपड़ी के आधार) को पकड़कर कुचलने और बाहर निकालने में सहायता करता है। यह बहुत दुर्लभ ‘डिस्ट्रक्टिव’ प्रक्रियाओं में तब उपयोग होता है जब भ्रूण जीवित न हो और अन्यथा योनि-मार्ग से प्रसव अवरुद्ध हो।
