ग्रीक authi- (अर्थ: ‘उसी स्थान पर/स्वयं’) + -genic (अर्थ: ‘उत्पन्न/निर्मित’) से, वैज्ञानिक नव-लैटिन प्रयोग के माध्यम से।
Definition
Authigenic describes minerals or sediments that form in situ (in the same location) during or after deposition, rather than being transported from elsewhere.
ऑथिजेनिक उन खनिजों/अवसादों को कहते हैं जो वहीं (उसी स्थान पर) बनते हैं—जमाव (deposition) के दौरान या बाद में—न कि कहीं और से बहकर/ढोकर लाए गए हों।
