Definition
Austenitizing is a metallurgical heat-treatment step in which steel is heated to a temperature range where its structure transforms into austenite, then held (soaked) to make the structure uniform before quenching, tempering, or other treatments.
ऑस्टेनिटाइजिंग धातुकर्म की ऊष्मा-उपचार प्रक्रिया है जिसमें स्टील को उस तापमान सीमा तक गर्म किया जाता है जहाँ उसकी सूक्ष्म संरचना ऑस्टेनाइट में परिवर्तित हो जाती है; फिर उसे कुछ समय तक उसी तापमान पर रखा (सोaked) जाता है ताकि संरचना समान हो जाए, उसके बाद क्वेंचिंग, टेम्परिंग या अन्य उपचार किए जाते हैं।
