Definition
An auger is a drilling tool, typically with a helical (spiral) metal shaft, used to bore deep, clean holes in materials like wood or the ground; in plumbing it can also mean a drain snake used to clear blockages. As a verb, it means to drill or bore using an auger, or to move forward with a twisting, screw-like motion.
