Formed from asept- (from Greek a- ‘not’ + sēptos ‘putrid’) + -ize, on the model of aseptic/asepsis; recorded chiefly in technical/medical usage.
asept- (ग्रीक a- ‘नहीं’ + sēptos ‘सड़ा/पूतिगंधयुक्त’) + -ize से निर्मित; aseptic/asepsis के ढाँचे पर बना, और मुख्यतः तकनीकी/चिकित्सीय प्रयोग में मिलता है।

To render a surface, instrument, room, or material free from pathogenic microorganisms by sterilization or disinfection, especially in medical or laboratory settings.
