From Middle English arm(e) + pit (“a hollow”), referring to the hollow under the arm; later influenced by anatomical Latin axilla.
यह शब्द मध्य अंग्रेज़ी के arm(e) + pit ('गड्ढा/खांचा') से बना है, जिसका अर्थ बाँह के नीचे का खांचा है; बाद में शरीर-रचना संबंधी लैटिन शब्द axilla का भी प्रभाव रहा।
Definition
The armpit is the area under the arm at the side of the body, where the upper arm meets the shoulder and chest; it commonly contains sweat glands and is often called the axilla.
बगल (काँख) शरीर के बाजू में बाँह के नीचे वह हिस्सा है जहाँ ऊपरी बाँह कंधे और छाती से मिलती है; इसमें पसीने की ग्रंथियाँ होती हैं और इसे चिकित्सकीय रूप से 'ऐक्सिला' भी कहते हैं।
