Most often it means the Australian Prudential Regulation Authority, which supervises and sets prudential standards for banks, insurance companies, and superannuation (pension) entities to protect financial stability and depositors/policyholders. It can also mean the Australasian Performing Right Association, which manages music performance rights and royalties.
