Definition
Applanation is the flattening of a curved surface by applying pressure; in eye care it commonly refers to flattening a small area of the cornea to measure eye pressure (IOP).
अप्लनेशन किसी वक्र सतह को दबाव लगाकर समतल करने की प्रक्रिया है; नेत्र-चिकित्सा में यह प्रायः कॉर्निया के एक छोटे हिस्से को समतल करके आँख का दबाव (IOP) मापने (अप्लनेशन टोनोमेट्री) को दर्शाता है।
