From French apogée, via Late Latin apogaeum, from Greek apó (away from) + gē (Earth), literally “away from Earth.”
यह शब्द फ्रेंच apogée से आया है; वह लेटिन apogaeum के माध्यम से ग्रीक apó (दूर/से हटकर) + gē (पृथ्वी) से बना है, जिसका शाब्दिक अर्थ है “पृथ्वी से दूर।”
Definition
In astronomy, apogee is the point in a satellite’s orbit where it is farthest from Earth (more generally, farthest from the body being orbited). In everyday use, it also means the highest or most successful point of something.
खगोल विज्ञान में, अपोजी (apogee) उपग्रह की कक्षा का वह बिंदु है जहाँ वह पृथ्वी से सबसे अधिक दूर होता है (और सामान्य रूप से, जिस ग्रह/पिंड की परिक्रमा हो रही हो उससे सबसे दूर)। सामान्य उपयोग में इसका अर्थ किसी चीज़ का सर्वोच्च/चरम या सबसे सफल बिंदु भी होता है।
