From Latin ampulla (“small bottle, flask”), a diminutive of amphora; via Medieval/Neo-Latin ampulla, with the plural ampullae in scientific usage.
लैटिन ampulla (“छोटी बोतल/शीशी, कलश”) से, जो amphora का लघुरूप है; मध्ययुगीन/नव-लैटिन ampulla के माध्यम से, और वैज्ञानिक प्रयोग में इसका बहुवचन ampullae प्रचलित हुआ।
Definition
Ampullae are small, bulb-shaped or sac-like structures; the term is used for anatomical dilations (such as at the end of the semicircular canals in the inner ear or in gland/duct systems) and for small sealed glass containers used to hold medicines or chemicals.
एम्पुली (ampullae) छोटे, बल्बाकार/थैली-जैसे ढाँचे होते हैं; यह शब्द शरीर-विज्ञान में नलिकाओं/नलिकामार्गों के फैलाव (जैसे आंतरिक कान की अर्धवृत्ताकार नलिकाओं के सिरे) तथा औषधि/रसायन रखने वाली छोटी सीलबंद काँच की शीशियों के लिए भी प्रयोग होता है।
