Definition
Amitrole is a synthetic triazole herbicide that inhibits plant growth by interfering with pigment formation (e.g., chlorophyll/carotenoids), causing treated plants to bleach and die; it has also been used to control aquatic weeds and as a growth regulator, but its use is limited because of potential carcinogenicity and environmental/health risks.
अमिट्रोल एक कृत्रिम ट्रायाज़ोल वर्ग का खरपतवारनाशी है जो वर्णक निर्माण (जैसे क्लोरोफिल/कैरोटेनॉइड) में बाधा डालकर पौधों की वृद्धि रोकता है; उपचारित पौधे सफ़ेद पड़कर (ब्लिच होकर) मर जाते हैं। जलीय खरपतवार नियंत्रण और वृद्धि-नियंत्रक के रूप में भी इसका उपयोग रहा है, लेकिन संभावित कैंसरजनकता तथा पर्यावरण/स्वास्थ्य जोखिमों के कारण कई स्थानों पर इसका उपयोग सीमित या प्रतिबंधित है।
