Definition
An allegory is a narrative, picture, or symbolic presentation where people, places, and actions stand for abstract principles (such as justice, greed, freedom) and the work can be interpreted on two levels: the literal story and a deeper hidden meaning, often moral or political.
Allegory (रूपक/रूपक कथा) ऐसी कहानी, चित्र या प्रतीकात्मक प्रस्तुति है जिसमें पात्र, स्थान और घटनाएँ किसी अमूर्त विचार (जैसे न्याय, लोभ, स्वतंत्रता) का प्रतीक बनकर आती हैं; इसे दो स्तरों पर समझा जाता है—ऊपरी/शाब्दिक कथा और उसके भीतर छिपा नैतिक या राजनीतिक अर्थ।
