Definition
Alae are wing-like parts found in different fields: in insects they refer to the wings (often the forewings), in plants they mean lateral ‘wings’ on flowers or seeds, and in architecture they can mean side wings of a building.
‘अलाए’ (alae) अलग-अलग क्षेत्रों में ‘पंख/पर’ जैसे भागों के लिए प्रयुक्त होता है: कीट-विज्ञान में यह कीटों के पंखों (अक्सर अग्र-पंख) को, वनस्पति-विज्ञान में फूल/बीज के पार्श्व ‘पंखनुमा’ हिस्सों को, और वास्तुकला में इमारत के पार्श्व-विंग (side wings) को दर्शा सकता है।
