Origin & History
From air + field; air in the sense of aviation (early 20th century) and field meaning open land; airfield came into common use with the expansion of powered flight.
air + field से बना शब्द; यहाँ air का अर्थ विमानन (20वीं सदी की शुरुआत) से और field का अर्थ खुला मैदान/भूमि से है; संचालित विमान-उड़ानों के विस्तार के साथ 'airfield' का प्रचलन बढ़ा।
Definition
Airfields are designated areas of land with runways and basic facilities used by aircraft to take off, land, and sometimes refuel, load, or receive maintenance; they are often simpler than full airports and may be military or civilian.
एयरफ़ील्ड (विमान-क्षेत्र) ऐसे निर्धारित भू-क्षेत्र होते हैं जहाँ रनवे और बुनियादी सुविधाएँ होती हैं ताकि विमान उड़ान भर सकें, उतर सकें और कभी-कभी ईंधन भरने, माल/यात्रियों को लोड करने या रखरखाव जैसी सेवाएँ ले सकें; ये अक्सर पूर्ण हवाई अड्डों की तुलना में सरल होते हैं और सैन्य या नागरिक हो सकते हैं।
