अरबी أَحَادِيث (अहादीथ) से, जो حَدِيث (हदीथ) का बहुवचन है; अर्थ: 'रिपोर्ट/वर्णन, रिवायत; कथन'।
Definition
Ahadith are the collected narrations (reports) describing what the Prophet Muhammad said, did, or tacitly approved; they are used alongside the Qur'an to understand Islamic belief, practice, and jurisprudence.
अहादीस वे संकलित रिवायतें (वर्णन/रिपोर्ट) हैं जिनमें पैगंबर मुहम्मद के कथन, कर्म और मौन स्वीकृतियाँ वर्णित होती हैं; क़ुरआन के साथ मिलकर इनका उपयोग इस्लामी आस्था, आचरण और फ़िक़्ह/कानून को समझने में किया जाता है।
