Definition
An agitator is (1) a person who provokes, stirs up, or mobilizes others—especially in politics, protests, or reform movements; (2) a mechanical part/device that shakes or mixes liquids or materials; (3) historically, an army-appointed representative in Cromwell’s time called an “adjutator.”
