Definition
Affidavits are written declarations of facts that a person signs and swears (or affirms) to be true before an authorized officer (such as a notary or magistrate), commonly submitted to courts or government authorities as evidence.
शपथपत्र ऐसे लिखित कथन/घोषणाएँ होते हैं जिन पर कोई व्यक्ति हस्ताक्षर करता है और अधिकृत अधिकारी (जैसे नोटरी या मजिस्ट्रेट) के समक्ष शपथ लेकर (या प्रतिज्ञान करके) उन्हें सत्य घोषित करता है; इन्हें प्रायः अदालतों या सरकारी प्राधिकरणों में साक्ष्य के रूप में प्रस्तुत किया जाता है।
