Origin & History
From Greek akros (“top, extreme”) + gamos (“marriage”), with the botanical sense referring to reproduction without conspicuous sexual organs; used in contrast to phanerogamic.
यूनानी akros (“शीर्ष/अत्यंत”) + gamos (“विवाह/संयोग”) से; वनस्पति-विज्ञान में इसका अर्थ ऐसे प्रजनन से जुड़ा है जिसमें स्पष्ट/दृश्य लैंगिक अंग नहीं होते; phanerogamic के विलोम रूप में प्रयुक्त।
Definition
Acrogamic describes plants (or plant reproduction) that do not form flowers or seeds and reproduce by spores, as in ferns, mosses, and similar groups.
एक्रोगैमिकल (acrogamic) उन पौधों/प्रजनन-प्रक्रियाओं को वर्णित करता है जिनमें फूल या बीज नहीं बनते और जो बीजाणुओं (spores) द्वारा प्रजनन करते हैं, जैसे फर्न (fern), काई (moss) आदि।
