From French acrobatisme, based on acrobate, ultimately from Greek akrobatēs (“one who walks on tiptoe”), from akron (“tip, extremity”) + bainein (“to walk”).

Acrobatism refers to the art, skill, or display of doing acrobatic movements such as flips, balances, tumbling, and other feats of agility, often in circuses, gymnastics, or stage performance.
