From Latin ab- (“away, off”) + lactare (“to suckle, to give milk”), via medieval/medical Latin ablactatio (“weaning”).
लैटिन ab- (“दूर/अलग, हटकर”) + lactare (“दूध पिलाना/स्तनपान कराना”) से, मध्ययुगीन/चिकित्सीय लैटिन ablactatio (“दूध छुड़ाना”) के माध्यम से।
Definition
Ablactation is the gradual or complete stopping of breastfeeding (or nursing) a child; in medicine it can also mean stopping lactation.
एब्लैक्टेशन (ablactation) का अर्थ शिशु को स्तनपान/दूध पिलाना धीरे-धीरे या पूरी तरह बंद करना (दूध छुड़ाना) है; चिकित्सीय संदर्भ में यह दुग्धस्राव (lactation) को रोकने के अर्थ में भी आता है।
