From Italian viola, from Latin viola meaning “violet” (the flower), later applied to a string instrument.
ইতালীয় viola থেকে, যা লাতিন viola (অর্থ ‘ভায়োলেট/বেগুনি ফুল’) থেকে এসেছে; পরে এই নামটি তারবাদ্যের ক্ষেত্রেও প্রয়োগ হয়েছে।
Definition
Viola refers mainly to (1) a string instrument in the violin family, tuned a fifth lower than the violin and commonly used to play inner harmonies in orchestras and chamber music; and (2) a genus of plants that includes violets and pansies.
Viola বলতে প্রধানত বোঝায় (১) বেহালা পরিবারের একটি ধনুক-চালিত তারবাদ্য, যা বেহালার চেয়ে এক পঞ্চম (a fifth) নিচে টিউন করা থাকে এবং অর্কেস্ট্রা ও চেম্বার মিউজিকে মাঝামাঝি হারমনি বাজাতে ব্যবহৃত হয়; এবং (২) উদ্ভিদের একটি গণ (genus), যার মধ্যে ভায়োলেট ও প্যানসি ফুল অন্তর্ভুক্ত।
