From Latin vibrare (“to shake, brandish”), via French vibration; the English noun vibration developed in the 17th century, and vibrations is the plural form.
লাতিন vibrare (“কাঁপানো/দোলানো/দোল খাওয়ানো”) থেকে, ফরাসি vibration হয়ে ইংরেজিতে এসেছে; ইংরেজি vibration বিশেষ্যটি মূলত ১৭শ শতকে প্রতিষ্ঠিত হয়, আর vibrations হলো তার বহুবচন রূপ।
Definition
Vibrations are repeated, rapid back-and-forth movements (oscillations) in a thing or substance, such as a guitar string, air, or the ground; they can be measured in frequency and amplitude and may be felt as shaking or heard as sound; figuratively, it can mean a perceived mood or “feel” from a person or place.
ভাইব্রেশন/কম্পন হলো কোনো বস্তু বা মাধ্যমের দ্রুত ও বারবার সামনে-পিছনে (দোলন/দোলায়ন) চলাচল—যেমন গিটারের তার, বাতাস বা ভূমি; এগুলোকে কম্পাঙ্ক ও বিস্তার (অ্যামপ্লিটিউড) দিয়ে মাপা যায় এবং কাঁপুনি হিসেবে অনুভূত বা শব্দ হিসেবে শোনা যেতে পারে; রূপক অর্থে এটি কোনো ব্যক্তি বা স্থানের “ভাব” বা পরিবেশও বোঝাতে পারে।
