Definition
Varices are abnormally dilated, swollen, and twisted veins, commonly seen in the legs or in internal sites such as the esophagus; the term can also refer to a ridge on certain mollusk shells that indicates an earlier position of the shell opening.
Varices বলতে অস্বাভাবিকভাবে প্রসারিত, ফুলে-ওঠা ও পেঁচানো শিরাগুলোকে বোঝায়; এগুলো সাধারণত পায়ে দেখা যায় বা শরীরের ভেতরে (যেমন খাদ্যনালীতে) হতে পারে। এছাড়া কিছু শামুকজাতীয় প্রাণীর খোলে এমন একটি উঁচু রিজ/ধারকেও বোঝায়, যা খোলার মুখের পূর্ববর্তী অবস্থান নির্দেশ করে।
