From up + wind; recorded in English from the early modern period, used in sailing and navigation to mean 'toward the wind' (compare windward).
up + wind থেকে গঠিত; আধুনিক প্রারম্ভিক যুগ থেকে ইংরেজিতে নথিভুক্ত, নৌচালনা ও দিকনির্ণয়ে 'বাতাসের দিকে/বাতাসের বিপরীত দিকে' অর্থে ব্যবহৃত (windward-এর সাথে তুলনীয়)।
Definition
Used to describe a position or movement toward the side the wind comes from (so wind blows from you toward something else), and also something exposed to the wind.
যে দিক থেকে বাতাস বইছে সেই দিকের দিকে/সেই পাশে অবস্থান বা গমন বোঝাতে ব্যবহৃত হয় (অর্থাৎ আপনার দিক থেকে বাতাস বস্তুটির দিকে যাচ্ছে), এবং বাতাসের মুখে উন্মুক্ত অবস্থাকেও বোঝায়।
