‘untenable’ শব্দের সঙ্গে -ity যোগে ‘untenability’ গঠিত; ‘untenable’ এসেছে un- (না/অ-) + ‘tenable’ থেকে, আর ‘tenable’ এর উৎস লাতিন tenere (“ধরে রাখা/টিকিয়ে রাখা”).
Definition
Untenability refers to the condition in which a position, argument, claim, situation, or system cannot be defended with sound reasons or evidence, or cannot realistically be maintained over time.
‘Untenability’ বলতে এমন অবস্থা বোঝায় যেখানে কোনো অবস্থান, যুক্তি, দাবি, পরিস্থিতি বা ব্যবস্থা যথাযথ কারণ/প্রমাণ দিয়ে সমর্থনযোগ্য নয় বা বাস্তবে দীর্ঘমেয়াদে টিকিয়ে রাখা যায় না।
