From Latin undulatio, from undulare (“to surge, to move in waves”), from undula (“little wave”), diminutive of unda (“wave”).
লাতিন undulatio থেকে এসেছে, যা undulare (“ঢেউয়ের মতো ওঠানামা করা/ঢেউতোলা হওয়া”) থেকে; undulare এসেছে undula (“ছোট ঢেউ”) থেকে, যা আবার unda (“ঢেউ”) শব্দের ক্ষুদ্রার্থক রূপ।
Definition
Undulation refers to a smooth, wave-like movement or shape—such as the rise and fall of land, water, sound, or energy (e.g., electromagnetic waves). It can also mean a tremulous musical tone or certain specialized medical sensations described as wave-like movement.
Undulation বলতে মসৃণ ঢেউ-সদৃশ গতি বা আকৃতি বোঝায়—যেমন ভূমি/জলপৃষ্ঠের ওঠানামা, শব্দ বা শক্তির (যেমন তড়িৎচৌম্বক বিকিরণ) তরঙ্গ। এটি সঙ্গীতে কাঁপা-ধ্বনির স্বর বা চিকিৎসাবিজ্ঞানে ঢেউয়ের মতো অনুভূতির মতো বিশেষ অর্থেও ব্যবহৃত হয়।
