Formed in modern English from under- (“insufficiently”) + staff + -ing, referring to the state/condition of having too few staff.
আধুনিক ইংরেজিতে under- (অপর্যাপ্তভাবে/কম) + staff (কর্মীবাহিনী) + -ing (অবস্থা/প্রক্রিয়া বোঝায়) মিলিয়ে গঠিত; অর্থ হলো ‘পর্যাপ্ত কর্মী না থাকা’র অবস্থা।

Understaffing is a situation where an organization does not employ enough workers to meet workload demands, often causing delays, lower service quality, burnout, and safety risks.
আন্ডারস্টাফিং হলো এমন একটি অবস্থা যেখানে কাজের চাপ ও চাহিদা সামাল দিতে কোনো প্রতিষ্ঠান পর্যাপ্ত কর্মী নিয়োগ করে না; ফলে কাজের বিলম্ব, সেবার মান কমে যাওয়া, কর্মীদের অতিরিক্ত চাপ/ক্লান্তি এবং নিরাপত্তাজনিত ঝুঁকি দেখা দিতে পারে।
