'trot' (ট্রট/হালকা দৌড়) শব্দের সাথে কর্তা-সূচক প্রত্যয় '-er' যোগে গঠিত; পশুর পা-অর্থটি সম্ভবত হাঁটার জন্য ব্যবহৃত প্রাণীর পায়ের সাথে সাদৃশ্য/সম্পর্ক থেকে এসেছে।
Definition
A 'trotter' is (1) a harness-racing horse trained to move in a trot (diagonal pairs of legs moving together), not a pace; and (2) the foot (especially the edible foot) of a pig, sheep, or similar quadruped.
'ট্রটার' বলতে (১) হারনেস রেসিং-এর এমন ঘোড়াকে বোঝায় যে ট্রট ভঙ্গিতে চলে (দেহের বিপরীত দিকের সামনের ও পেছনের পা জোড়ায় জোড়ায় একসাথে ওঠানামা করে), পেসিং নয়; এবং (২) শূকর, ভেড়া বা অনুরূপ চারপেয়ে প্রাণীর পা/খুরের অংশ—বিশেষ করে রান্নায় ব্যবহৃত পা।
