From New Latin trismus, from Greek trismós (“a gnashing; a kind of spasmodic contraction”), from trízō (“to gnash”).
নিউ ল্যাটিন trismus থেকে; গ্রিক trismós (অর্থ: দাঁত কটকট/কামড়ানো ধরনের খিঁচুনি) থেকে, যা আবার trízō (অর্থ: দাঁত কটকট করা/কামড়ানো) ক্রিয়া থেকে এসেছে।
Definition
Trismus is a medical condition where the jaw muscles go into spasm or become restricted, making it difficult or impossible to open the mouth normally; it can be caused by infections, dental problems, trauma, cancer, radiation therapy, or tetanus.
ট্রিজমাস হলো একটি চিকিৎসাবিষয়ক অবস্থা যেখানে চোয়ালের পেশি খিঁচে যায় বা শক্ত/সীমাবদ্ধ হয়ে পড়ে, ফলে স্বাভাবিকভাবে মুখ খুলতে কষ্ট হয় বা একেবারেই খোলা যায় না; এটি সংক্রমণ, দাঁত/মাড়ির সমস্যা, আঘাত, ক্যান্সার, রেডিয়েশন থেরাপি বা টিটেনাসের কারণে হতে পারে।
