From Greek trichotomia, from tricho- ‘threefold’ + -tomia ‘cutting’ (from temnein ‘to cut’), later via Latin/French into English.
গ্রিক trichotomia থেকে; tricho- অর্থ ‘ত্রিমুখী/তিনভাগ’ এবং -tomia অর্থ ‘কাটা/ছেদন’ (temnein ‘কাটা’ ক্রিয়া থেকে); পরে লাতিন/ফরাসি মাধ্যমে ইংরেজিতে এসেছে।
