Origin & History
From sub- (“below”) + alpine (“of the Alps; high-mountain”), first used in scientific/geographical contexts to name the belt below the alpine zone.
sub- (‘নিচে/তলদেশে’) + alpine (‘আল্পস/উচ্চপর্বত-সম্পর্কিত’) থেকে গঠিত; বৈজ্ঞানিক/ভৌগোলিক পরিভাষায় অ্যালপাইন অঞ্চলের ঠিক নিচের বলয় বোঝাতে প্রথম ব্যবহৃত হয়।
Definition
Subalpine describes the ecological belt on high mountains immediately below the alpine zone (above the tree line), typically characterized by cold climates, coniferous forests, shrubs, and meadows.
সাবঅ্যালপাইন বলতে উচ্চ পর্বতের সেই পরিবেশগত অঞ্চলকে বোঝায় যা অ্যালপাইন অঞ্চলের (গাছহীন, ট্রি-লাইনের ওপরে) ঠিক নিচে থাকে; সাধারণত এখানে ঠান্ডা জলবায়ু, শঙ্কুযুক্ত বন, ঝোপঝাড় ও তৃণভূমি দেখা যায়।
