Definition

Stibnite is a lead-gray to steel-gray, metallic-looking mineral composed mainly of antimony and sulfur (Sb2S3). It commonly forms elongated, bladed crystals and is an important source (ore) of the element antimony, used in alloys, flame retardants, and other industrial products.
