state (রাষ্ট্র) + -less (বিহীন) + -ness (অবস্থা/ধর্ম) থেকে গঠিত আধুনিক ইংরেজি শব্দ; বিশেষত আইনগত প্রেক্ষিতে রাষ্ট্র/জাতীয়তা না থাকার অবস্থাকে বোঝাতে ব্যবহৃত।
Definition
Statelessness is the legal and social condition in which a person is not considered a national by any state under the operation of its laws, often resulting in lack of legal identity and restricted access to rights and services.
রাষ্ট্রহীনতা হলো এমন একটি আইনগত ও সামাজিক অবস্থা যেখানে কোনো দেশের আইন অনুযায়ী কোনো ব্যক্তিকে কোনো রাষ্ট্রের নাগরিক হিসেবে গণ্য করা হয় না; ফলে আইনগত পরিচয় দুর্বল/অনুপস্থিত হয় এবং অধিকার ও সেবায় প্রবেশাধিকার সীমিত হয়ে যায়।
