লাতিন ‘spectrum’ (অর্থ: আবির্ভাব/ছবি; প্রেত/ভূত) থেকে (ফরাসি ‘spectral’ হয়ে) ইংরেজি ‘-ity’ প্রত্যয় যোগে গঠিত—অর্থাৎ ‘spectral’ হওয়ার গুণ/অবস্থা বোঝাতে ব্যবহৃত বিশেষ্য।
Definition
Spectrality refers to the state of seeming like a specter—present yet elusive, haunting, or not fully material; in theory and criticism it can describe traces of the past that continue to affect the present.
‘Spectrality’ বলতে ভূতের/প্রেতসদৃশ অবস্থা বা গুণ বোঝায়—যেন উপস্থিত কিন্তু ধরা-ছোঁয়ার বাইরে, ভৌতিক/অস্বস্তিকর, বা পুরোপুরি বস্তুগত নয়; সাহিত্য-দর্শন-সমালোচনায় এটি অতীতের এমন ‘চিহ্ন/ছায়া’কেও বোঝায় যা বর্তমানকে প্রভাবিত করে যেতে থাকে।
