Definition
Sideslip is a sideways drifting or sliding motion, often caused by loss of traction (as with a car on a wet road) or by aerodynamic control inputs (as with an aircraft). In flying, a sideslip is used to lose altitude, correct for crosswind, or align with the runway while the plane’s nose is not pointing exactly along the direction of travel.
সাইডস্লিপ হলো পাশের দিকে সরে যাওয়া/পিছলে যাওয়ার গতি, যা প্রায়ই গ্রিপ কমে যাওয়ার কারণে (যেমন ভেজা রাস্তায় গাড়ি স্কিড করা) বা বায়ুগতীয় নিয়ন্ত্রণের প্রভাবে (যেমন বিমানে) ঘটে। বিমানচালনায় সাইডস্লিপ কৌশল ব্যবহার করা হয় উচ্চতা কমাতে, পার্শ্ববাতাস (ক্রসউইন্ড) সামলাতে, বা রানওয়ের সঙ্গে ঠিকভাবে সারিবদ্ধ হতে—যখন বিমানের নাক চলার দিকের সঙ্গে পুরোপুরি সোজা থাকে না।
