From serum + -logy (‘study of’), formed in scientific/medical English under influence of French sérologie (19th century).
serum (রক্তের সিরাম) + -logy (বিদ্যা/অধ্যয়ন) থেকে গঠিত; ফরাসি ‘sérologie’ দ্বারা প্রভাবিত হয়ে ১৯শ শতকে চিকিৎসাবিজ্ঞানের পরিভাষা হিসেবে প্রচলিত।
Definition
Serology is the branch of medical science that examines blood serum and focuses on how antibodies and antigens react; it is also used to describe serum-based blood tests and the serum patterns found in particular infections or conditions.
সেরোলজি হলো চিকিৎসাবিজ্ঞানের একটি শাখা যেখানে রক্তের সিরাম পরীক্ষা করা হয়—বিশেষ করে সিরামে অ্যান্টিবডি ও অ্যান্টিজেনের পারস্পরিক প্রতিক্রিয়া; এছাড়া সিরাম-ভিত্তিক রক্তপরীক্ষা এবং নির্দিষ্ট রোগ/জীবাণুতে সিরামের বৈশিষ্ট্য বোঝাতেও এই শব্দটি ব্যবহৃত হয়।
