From English sentence + -ing; sentence comes via Old French from Latin sententia (“opinion, judgment, sentence”).
ইংরেজি sentence + -ing থেকে; sentence শব্দটি পুরাতন ফরাসি হয়ে লাতিন sententia (‘মতামত, বিচার, দণ্ডাদেশ’) থেকে এসেছে।
Definition
Sentencing refers mainly to a court’s act of officially deciding and announcing the punishment for a convicted person; more broadly, it can mean the act of turning ideas into well-formed sentences in language.
‘Sentencing’ বলতে প্রধানত আদালতে দোষী সাব্যস্ত ব্যক্তির জন্য শাস্তি নির্ধারণ ও আনুষ্ঠানিকভাবে ঘোষণা করার প্রক্রিয়াকে বোঝায়; বিস্তৃত অর্থে, ভাষায় ভাবনা/খণ্ডাংশকে পূর্ণাঙ্গ বাক্যে রূপ দেওয়ার প্রক্রিয়াও বোঝাতে পারে।
