Definition

Secant means a straight line that cuts a curve at two distinct points (commonly a circle); it can also mean the trigonometric function sec(x), the reciprocal of cosine.

সেক্যান্ট বলতে এমন একটি সরলরেখাকে বোঝায় যা কোনো বক্ররেখাকে (বিশেষ করে বৃত্তকে) দুইটি পৃথক বিন্দুতে ছেদ করে; এছাড়াও ত্রিকোণমিতিতে sec(x) ফাংশনকে বোঝায়, যা cosine-এর বিপরীতানুপাতিক (sec x = 1/cos x)।
