score ক্রিয়া থেকে এসেছে; মধ্য ইংরেজির score/skar (‘কাটা দাগ/খাঁজ’) থেকে, যা প্রাচীন নর্স skor (‘খাঁজ, দাগ’) থেকে উদ্ভূত; পরে খেলায় ‘পয়েন্ট নথিবদ্ধ/অর্জন’ অর্থে প্রসারিত হয়েছে।
Definition
Scoring means (1) gaining or making points in a sport or competition, (2) the system or method used to award points/marks (including tests or reviews), and (3) making lines or cuts on a surface (e.g., scoring wood or pastry).
Scoring বলতে বোঝায় (১) খেলাধুলা বা প্রতিযোগিতায় পয়েন্ট/গোল করা, (২) পয়েন্ট বা নম্বর দেওয়ার পদ্ধতি/ব্যবস্থা (পরীক্ষা বা মূল্যায়নসহ), এবং (৩) কোনো পৃষ্ঠে আঁচড়/কাটা দাগ টানা বা কেটে দাগ করা (যেমন কাঠ বা পেস্ট্রিতে স্কোর করা)।
